Just Added! Mindfulness
Training Sessions 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 14 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 21 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 5
Mindfulness-based practices are well regarded for their potential to
support stress reduction, wellness and wellbeing. Join mindfulness
instructor Brown Sharp II for one or more training sessions in the
mindfulness practices. The sessions can be attended either individually
or as a series. Each session will have different emphases and provide guided
experience with core mindfulness practices, such as mindfulness meditation
techniques, mindfulness of the breath and mindful walking. Sessions will be
held outdoors on Blandy’s beautiful grounds. Please dress for the weather
and wear comfortable walking shoes. Masks are required, and social distancing
will be observed throughout the program. Meet at the Information Kiosk next to
the front parking lot. Registrants may receive further program-related guidance
and updates prior to program dates. To support a prompt start time at 10 a.m.,
please plan to arrive 15 minutes early. Capacity: 10 participants per session

Winter Migrants Bird Walk
Friday, October 30 | 8-10 a.m.
Guess who’s coming to visit? Around this time of year, birds from northern forests fly south in search of overwintering grounds. Join Blandy director and birding enthusiast Dr. Dave Carr to look for sparrows, Ruby- and Golden-crowned Kinglets, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, and others. Bring your own binoculars. Also, remember you’ll need to wear a mask and practice social distancing during the walk. Meet at the flagpole at the front parking lot close to the information kiosk. Arboretum Walking Tour Tuesday, November 3 | 2-3 p.m. Explore the Arboretum’s gardens and collections in the fall season. We will walk approximately a half-mile over gently rolling terrain. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing during the walk. Meet at the flagpole at the front parking lot close to the information kiosk. Free!

Snowbird Walk
Friday, November 20 | 8-10 a.m.
Our winter residents have come home to roost! Join Blandy director and birding enthusiast Dr. Dave Carr in search of Purple Finches, Pine Siskins, Northern Harriers, and others. Bring your own binoculars. Also, remember you’ll need to wear a mask and practice social distancing during the walk. Meet at the flagpole at the front parking lot close to the information kiosk. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.
