Summer Camps

Blandy Summer Camps

This year we have new, expanded hours for our summer camps!
Camp hours are from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.
We also offer an optional after-camp care from 3pm-4pm for an additional cost.

Blandy summer camps offer a unique opportunity to meet and learn with scientists during a week filled with fun and adventure exploring all things outdoors.  Experiences youth have in nature support growth, learning, and creativity.  We design our camps to encourage children's natural curiosity, sense of adventure and wonder, environmental awareness, knowledge, and care for our world.

Our WILD Things camp guides younger, elementary aged explorers in experiencing nature through curiosity-driven nature hikes, crafts, games, and sensory learning.  Several times throughout the week, scientists visit the camp to share hands-on activities, stories about how they became scientists, and talk about what they do as a scientist.  Year in and year out, campers LOVE meeting and learning from our scientists!

Each camp day, we explore a daily theme in nature.  This year's daily themes are:
Map-it Monday- Navigational skills without google maps? Yes, it's possible using compasses and the sun!
Turn it Over Tuesday- Search all things in the ground, from soil and worms to fungi.
Wonder and Wander Wednesday- Explore all habitats around Blandy, from the magical bamboo forest to the ginkgo tree grove.
Tree Party Thursday- Trees are homes to so much life!  Squirrels, plants, birds, bugs, and beyond.
Forest and Flora Friday- Discover what animals travel along and use the forest and flora.

Registration includes a camp t-shirt, snacks, and all program materials.  Please pack a lunch for your camper.

Our EcoExplorer campers are immersed in inquiry-driven exploration and scientific investigation.  In the mornings, campers examine Blandy's meadows, ponds, and woodlands, allowing curiosity and observation to drive questions.  Blandy's educators and scientists guide campers as they dig deeper into the natural world and collect information using field research tools to answer their questions.  In the afternoons, campers are given time to explore Blandy and engage in art, math, and skill-based activities.  Several times throughout the week, scientists visit the camp to share hands-on activities, stories about how they became scientists, and talk about what they do as a scientist.  On the last day, you are invited to the EcoExplorer Showcase where campers share the exciting things they learned during the week.

Registration includes a camp t-shirt, snacks, and all program materials.  Please pack a lunch for your camper.
