Memorial Trees and Benches

Create a Lasting Tribute

Honor a loved one, celebrate a special person, or commemorate a meaningful occasion with a memorial tree or bench at the Arboretum. 

Memorial Trees I $1,800 Donation

  • How it Works: The Arboretum Curator will work with you to select a tree species and location that reflect the memory, interests, or spirit of the person being honored while ensuring the tree thrives within the Arboretum's collections.
  • Each tree includes a customized identification tag recognizing the honoree and a brief personalized inscription.
  • Planting Ceremony: Family and friends are welcome to attend a tree planting ceremony and participate in placing and planting the tree. Trees are typically planted in spring or fall for the best chance of success.
  • Finding Your Tree: All memorial trees are mapped and searchable through the Arboretum's TreeFinder database, making it easy to locate and visit your tree.
  • Donation: $1,800
  • Longevity: Memorial trees are maintained by Arboretum staff throughout their natural lifespan. If a tree dies within 25 years of planting, it will be replaced with the same or a similar species.

Memorial Benches & Picnic Tables I $2,500 or $3,500 Donation

Create a peaceful place for visitors to rest, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of the Arboretum with a memorial bench or picnic table.

Your tax-deductible donation includes a high-quality teak bench or picnic table, an engraved plaque with your personalized tribute, and placement at a mutually agreed-upon location within the Arboretum.

Memorial Bench Donation: $2,500

Memorial Picnic Table Donation: $3,500
